Update
Units of Measure from Points to Millimeters
One thing you will notice right away is there has been a change in the
units of measure from “Points (pt)” to “Millimeters (mm)” for density,
underlay, and various other areas. The reason for this change is
because Walter Floriani teaches you to always measure in millimeters as
this is what embroidery machines operate under. This should help you
make the transition:
1mm = 10 pt
So, here are some examples:
0.1mm = 1 pt
0.4mm = 4 pt
1.2mm = 12 pt
10mm = 100 pt
14mm = 140 pt
It is relatively easy to make the
transition between the two units of measure. This will greatly help
those who study Walt’s “Destined to Digitize” book that is based off his
“Measurement Theory of Embroidery.”
