SmartSizer Editing III Continued

Making it easy to operate:
Having looked at, and worked on, so many different systems, our development group feels that simple logic and common sense has very seldom before been considered and implemented in other Editing Software.

For example:
Simple things like start points always being green and end points always red just seemed right.

Our program works with amazing ease in selecting stitch edit points by showing what would be selected before you click on anything.

The parameter box always being live and active was a key component to elevate the ease of usage as it is constantly utilized and necessary.  I know of no other software where it does not have to be selected to be of any use at all.

Making the auto compensation control function in the realm of absolutes as opposed to percentages greatly simplified the ability to affect run-ability.  At the same time we realized some users prefer the percentage method so we gave you the ability and choice to work in the environment of your choice, Scaling a designs size is as simple as it can be, and the ability to integrate the processor to function simultaneously is incredible. You would also notice that all pertinent design information such as stitch count and size is always present and always visible on the screen.  Once again, on most systems this information must be selected in order to be viewed.

With regard to the text, easy color coded tabs for spacing, placement, shaping, sizing and justification are also extremely easy to use.

The point of "possessing" real embroidery knowledge was achieved with the integration of my Measurement Theory of Embroidery Control and Creation within the feature of "Save to Sew" which will, at the click of a button, control and correct a majority of designs you will edit and run.

Let me explain further:  I have stated for years that embroidery, to me, is very similar to cooking. As an accredited soux chef I have always maintained that I can cook twenty different chicken dishes. The fact is that they are all chicken but to create another recipe you add a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Embroidery is truly no different. With each material type the recipe can alter from a minimal amount to a substantial amount. Densities will change, underlayers will change and indeed distortion values vary. These are the ingredients to your embroidery design.

As a professional digitizer the knowledge of what material a design is to be stitched on is an integral aspect in determining the values of, again, density, underlayer technique and distortion values. The process of creating a design that can run on a variety of material types involves at most, a complete re-digitizing of the design and at least a substantial amount of editing.

What the Save to Sew feature allowed us to bring to you was, simply stated, different recipes for different material types. When this feature is selected you can currently select from a list of 38 different style materials. (An important side-note is that the material list will continue to grow as I develop the recipes for them.) Once the selection has been made, the measurement theory takes over and design changes take place at the click of a button. Densities will be altered for the specific fabric, and so will the underlay and distortion values for that specific fabric.

This integration of real embroidery knowledge, in my opinion, is the most substantial, positive and progressive change in Embroidery Software since the inception of computerized embroidery creation and control.  This singular feature alone is something you can and will utilize every day. The days of poor registration, garments being eaten and bulletproof embroidery are gone forever. All at the click of a button.

Limitless Control: Since the creation of editing software the ability to manipulate an embroidery design created on the same software has been and still is amazing, but the ability to alter and correct existing embroidery designs (for example: stock designs) has been good but somewhat limited.

The real beauty of our Editing Software is that the control of changing an existing design is not only amazing, it is staggering. In many cases it is stronger editing than can be achieved with a design digitized with the software itself.

Here are some of the features:
Sizing: The scaling of your designs is almost limitless and only limited by the rules of the individual stitch type themselves. Scaling can be achieved by either selecting the entire design and dragging to the desired size, or by selecting and clicking on the transform tab in the parameters box. The difference is that the dragging method alters the stitch count in proportion to the size scaled. In the method of utilizing the transform function you can totally control the percentage of density to suit your needs. If a design is too dense to begin with and you scale it the transform function is amazing.

Density: The density control with the software is unbelievable. From changing density in the entire design to effecting a density change in a portion or, better yet, to have the control to change a single elements density; it is at your fingertips. To simply explain: let's say you have a lettering design. You can change the density in the entire design, or one letter or even a singular element of one letter.

Design Control and Manipulation: In the parameters box you control the stitch lengths, the densities, the underlay style, pull compensation in either percentages or absolutes, your connection ends, your fill line overlaps, gradient fills, start commands, end commands, tie ins, tie offs, sizing and rotation. On the tool bars you can select or lasso select, you can shape edit or stitch edit, complete zoom control, you can pan, measure, create a 3d effect, utilize the grid, mark stitch points, alter commands, choose specific hoop sizes, flip horizontal or vertical and rotate left and right.

You can convert from one thread manufacturer to another with the Thread Converter Pro portion of the editing software.

To continue on, you can re-sequence by color, slow redraw, repeat the design or batch convert. You can add stops and color changes anywhere. You can move start and end points, control and alter angles of your stitch types. You can completely reshape any element of the design, bow it, bend it, split satins, add or delete angle lines. Add or delete singular stitches. You can save to all major format types, print the image for design placement and utilize the Save to Sew feature.

Enter the "world of total control" with the first editing software created by real embroidery professionals.

I truly believe that the majority of machine embroiderers own editing software, but most of you do not utilize it every day. With Floriani SmartSizer Editing III you will possess the skills of the Masters, and all at the click of a button. Combine all of this with an on-line embroidery forum, an on-line help desk, an integrated lesson plan and live webinars hosted by myself, and you will truly experience the Floriani difference.
