AutoDigitizing with Applique III
(Part Two)

by Walter Floriani

In Part 1 we defined the usage and functions of the auto digitizing side of the software. In Part 2 will we will explore the applique side of the same. Let's first look at the features we have.

Auto Digitizing with AppliqueLet's start with fonts. There a 12 different fonts included in this module and all font functions. You have size, spacing, shaping, density, alignment, straight or arched, color changes and on and on. All the font functions are included. The complex auto applique digitizing icon, which allows you to form the applique shape from your own artwork is fully functional and extremely easy to use. For applique you also have a fantastic tool called Applique Shapes. Applique Shapes gives you 152 pre-done, very unique applique shapes for you to select from. From Anchors to Worms, almost every possible shape is included, wait till you get a look at these, the video will follow. You have full control of sizing as well as all other digitizing control and functions and one of the real highlight is your stitch choices. At the click of a button you can choose from a standard Satin stitch style of applique to either an E (blanket stitch) style of stitching or choose from 40 different Motif stitching styles to border your applique design. These Motifs are very lightly stitched, feminine, very artistic and , I would call them, Lacy embroidery effects. They are truly beautiful. You have full outline and stitch editing for your embroidery creation and all your commands and hoop sizes are activated and fully functional.

Embroidery Tip

In the beginning when you are selecting what colors to bring in - select a preview and put in a low number such as 3 then click the number up by 1 and watch where the color is added to the design. Decide if you like that addition and move forward. If at the next color you think it could be the same as a previous color just make a note of the number by the check box.

After you apply then you can go in and change the colors.
