Button Holes Made Easy

1. Select from the tool bar to bring up the designs provided with the program and select apple01.

2. Draw the apple onto the design page to a scale of around 1".

3. Use corner nodes around the design to adjust the size proportionately. One of the ways that size can be determined is by using the ruler from the tool box. Apple 1

4. Note When resizing a design the Floriani Software will automatically adjust he stitch count.

5. Select the rectangle shape from the artwork tool on the tool bar then from the drop down menu select 'rectangle'.

7. Select the rectangle the nodes will appear around the rectangle. RC with the artwork still selected and RC again on a green square from the color selection at the bottom of the screen. From the menu select 'apply color'. Apple 2

8. RC on the Artwork again and from the RC menu select 'convert to' then steil from the additional menu.

9. From the properties window with the steil icon highlighted change the width to 2mm. Apple 3

10. Select the shape tool from the tool box and LC on the red part of the apple. The nodes should be around the edge of the red stitches. LC on any node then RC to select 'add hole' from this menu.

11. The mouse icon will change from an arrow to a cross. Draw around the inside edge of the steil stitches. LC to change direction. RC to set lines when reaching the start point. Apple 4

12. RC outside the area once. The mouse icon will change to an arrow. RC again and a hole will appear inside the steil area creating a buttonhole. Apple 5

13. Note Holes can be created in this way within most areas of stitching.
