Quick Start Lesson IV - Using Embellishments to Create a Design

In the Quick Start IV for Borders and Frames III, we will be using several symbols to create a new design. By the time you have finished this lesson you should have a good working knowledge on how to use your symbols in a new and exciting way.


1. Go to the drop down menu File and click on NEW.



2. Click on Load Backdrop with the left mouse  button.



3. Select BF-QS-04-symbol-example.jpg and click on Open with the left mouse button.



(This file can be found at: {your CD drive}:\Lessons\ or C:\ProgramFiles\G7Solutions\Click2Stitch\Lessons\.


4. Select the small down arrow by the Symbol icon with the left mouse button.



5. Scroll down and select Solid_Heart symbol with the left mouse button.



6. Click and hold the left mouse button on the number 1 dot and drag it to the number 2 dot.



7. Once positioned over the number 2 dot, let go of the left mouse button.



8. Click and hold the left mouse button on the number 3 dot and drag it to the number 4 dot.



9. Once positioned over the number 4 dot, let go of the left mouse button.



10. Once positioned over the number 6 dot, let go of the left mouse button.



11. Click and hold the left mouse button on the number 5 dot and drag it to the number 6 dot.



12. Click and hold the left mouse button on the number 7 dot and drag it to the number 8 dot.



13. Once positioned over the number 8 dot, let go of the left mouse button.



14. Select the small down arrow by the Symbol icon with the left mouse button.



15. Scroll down until select the asterisk symbol with the left mouse button.



16. Click and hold down the left mouse button on the number 9 dot and drag it to the number 10 dot.



17. Once positioned over the number 10 dot, let go of the left mouse button.



18. Select the small down arrow by the Symbol icon with the left mouse button. 



19. Scroll down until and select lavrel symbol with the left mouse button.



20. Once positioned over the number 12 dot, let go of the left mouse button.



21. Click and hold the left mouse button on the number 11 dot and drag it to the number 12 dot.



22. Click and hold the left mouse button on the number 13 dot and drag it to the number 14 dot.



23. Once positioned over the number 14 dot, let go of the left mouse button.



24. Click and hold the left mouse button on the number 15 dot and drag it to the number 16 dot.



25. Once positioned over the number 16 dot, let go of the left mouse button.



26. Click the left mouse button on the backdrop” icon to turn off the backdrop.



27. Click the left mouse button on the 3D icon to view the new design in 3D.



28. Once this is done, go to the drop down menu FILE and click on Save As.


29. Save your design on your hard drive as a C2S file.
