In the following lesson we are using Windows Xi with the Screen Resolution set to 1024 x 768 pixels and a Color Quality of “Highest (32bit)” . It is not necessary to have your computer setup in the same way we created these lessons . You might find it easier to follow the lesson and the screen shots knowing how our Windows Xi is setup .
Quick Start I (Create Round Coaster or Picture Mating)
In the Quick Start I for Borders and Frames III, we will be using the motif shapes and creating a nice circle picture frame, or coaster . By the time you have finished this lesson you should have a good working knowledge of Borders and Frames III. So lets get started and have some fun .....
1 . Go to the drop down menu File and click on NEW . (Figure BF - 01)

2 . Click on the Hoop Icon with your left mouse button . (Figure BF - 02)

3 . Select “Babylock – Brother (Pes) 100 x 100 and click on OK . (Figure BF - 03)

4 . Click on the Motif Shapes Icon with your left mouse button . (Figure BF - 04)

5 . Select the “Circle” Motif Shape with your left mouse button . (Figure BF - 05)

6 . Click on and hold the left mouse button down on the top left square of the object . This will allow you to resize the object . (Figure BF - 06)

7 . While still holding down the top left square, resize the circle to 95mm (Figure BF - 07)

8 . Notice three things .
a . Horizontal “0”
b . Vertical “0”
c . Center point of object (Figure BF - 08)

9 . Move your mouse to line up with the center point of the object (where the small hand shows) and hold down the left mouse button . (Figure BF - 09)

10 . Move the active object until you are lined up with 0, 0 (on the ruler) . (Figure BF - 10)

11 . Click the right mouse button in the center of the active object and with the left mouse button click on “Copy” . (Figure BF - 11)

12 . Click the right mouse button in the center of the active object and with the left mouse button click on “Paste” . (Figure BF - 12)

13 . Click and hold the left mouse button down on the top left square of the object . This will allow you to resize the object . (Figure BF - 13)

14 . While still holding down the top left square, resize the circle to 85mm . (Figure BF - 14)

30 . Save your design on your hard drive as a C2S file .
